Chair of School Education
Welcome
In the Department of School Pedagogy
The central focus of research and teaching in the Department of School Pedagogy is on school- and instruction-related issues, teacher education, the design of learning environments, and teaching and learning under changing societal conditions - particularly in the context of digitalization, diversity, and managing complexity.
These topics are integrated into teaching and the supervision of student teachers during the practical phases of their bachelor’s and master’s studies, with the aim of fostering the development of professional competencies in future teachers. At the same time, the teaching approach follows the model of research-based learning, offering students the opportunity to develop a research-oriented mindset - an essential component of teacher professionalism.
For both areas - research and teaching - collaborative partnerships with schools and teachers are essential. These are actively integrated into projects and courses within the framework of didactic development research.
The department is headed by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Stadler-Altmann
