Research
Our research group investigates universities and the sciences at the intersection of generalized performance imperatives, discipline-specific research cultures, and their societal educational mission.
Our research profile is located at the interface of sociological higher education research and the sociology of science. We focus on issues where higher education institutions and the sciences mutually inform one another, both empirically and theoretically. These include, for example, the evaluation of quality and performance, the role of academic disciplines and their distinct cultures, research governance, academic career trajectories, and social inequalities.
