Welcome to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin! 

 

Are you interested in studying at the Institute of Educational Sciences under the ERASMUS programme? Here you will find information on each step from your application until the end of the semester. 

 

Application 🖉
 
  1. First of all, talk to the ERASMUS coordinator at your home university about whether a stay as part of the ERASMUS+ programme is possible. To apply to the HU, you must first be nominated by your home university.

  2. The subsequent application at Humboldt University is handled by the International Office. Here you will find information on the application process and the MoveOn application platform. If you have any questions or uncertainties, please contact the Global Mobility team at the International Office. 
 

Deadlines for applying to the HU
Winter semester (Oct - March): 15 April to 31 May
Summer semester (April - July): 15 October to 30 November

 

3. You will receive confirmation or rejection of your application by the end of August for the winter semester and by the end of February for the summer semester.

Have you been accepted for Erasmus+ at our Institute? Congratulations!

 

  1. Here you will find the academic calender with dates and deadlines for the semester at HU.

  2. In consultation with the ERASMUS coordinator at your home university, use the OLA platform to create an online learning agreement with the courses you would like to attend.

    • All courses are listed on the online platform AGNES. Check the course catalogue for the Institute of Educational Sciences to find out about the courses on offer. Make sure you always select the correct semester. This can be changed at the top left of the course catalogue page.

    • If you want to take courses at other institutes of the HU, please ask the tutor for a written declaration of consent and send it to us. We cannot sign the Learning Agreement without the signatures or written consent. This does not apply to courses that are offered in the ÜWP (interdisciplinary compulsory elective courses) of other institutes. The ECTS correspond to the credit points (CP) for the respective course.

    • With the Berlin Perspectives Programme, Humboldt University offers an interdisciplinary range of courses in English and German for international students of all subjects. The courses have a special focus on Berlin-specific issues. 

    • Exchange students can take language courses at the HU language centre. Please note the deadlines and the information on course registration on the language centre website.

Start of semester 🖉

 

  1. Before the start of the lecture period please come to the ERASMUS office and submit your Confirmation of Registration, if it is required by your home university.

  2. To participate in courses, please contact the tutors in advance or ask at the first session whether you are allowed to attend. You don't have to register for the courses on AGNES.

  3. If you wish to make any changes to your Learning Agreement, please do so in your OLA no later than two weeks after the start of the lecture period. Please also send us a confirmation from your degree programme coordinator stating that you can take the new courses. We can only sign your OLA with this confirmation.

Important: If you have to return to your home university in the winter semester before the end of the examination period, please clarify with the tutors at the beginning of the lecture period when the respective examination is to take place and whether a substitute examination is possible. In the worst case you will have to look for another course.

 

During the semester 🖉

 

To take an exam, please register directly with the tutor. ERASMUS students cannot register for an exam via AGNES.

End of semester 🖉

 

  1. Please submit your Confirmation of Stay Abroad to us. Please fill in either the last day of lectures or the last day of examinations (without assignments or retests).

  2. Please submit a completed certificate of attendance (Teilnahmenachweis) and/or transcript of records (Leistungsnachweis) to all tutors. As soon as we have received all signed and stamped certificates, we will issue your Transcript of Records. You or the tutors can send the transcripts to us by email or post.
