Motivation
What particularly excites me about research is the iterative process of continuous development. Personally, I really enjoy thinking together and learning from each other in the research community. One thing is certain: my job is never boring and there is always something new to discover. At HU, in addition to the productive collaboration in our team and the interdisciplinary environment, I particularly enjoy the insight into school practice, which enriches my psychological perspective. I also look forward to having direct contact with students every semester through teaching and supervising – a nice change and complement to my research work.
In my research, I am particularly interested in computer-based learning settings. Initially, I used a series of feedback experiments to investigate how automated feedback affects affective motivation in particular. This sparked my particular interest in emotions in learning contexts. In addition to feedback, I am currently also looking at the potential of large language models (LLMs) in various learning environments, for example as a source of feedback or a discussion partner in debates.
