Research Group Higher Education Research
Our research group investigates the sciences and their relationship with generalized research performance imperatives, discipline-specific research cultures, and their educational role in society. In teaching, our group represents the core topics of sociological higher education research and science studies.
In research, our group is situated at the interface of higher education research and science studies. In particular, we focus on the topics in which sociological higher education research and science studies overlap or refer to each other. Such topics include, for example, the assessment of quality and performance, disciplines and epistemic cultures, research governance and academic careers as well as social inequality.
Our team is comprised of Julian Hamann, Tim Fenkner, Daniel Stein, Michi Hügel, and Jacqueline Wiedenhöft.
